Context : Harnessing of energy will be a major challenge for the future. Due its ability to be controlled by software but also its local non-polluting characteristic, electrical energy will be further developed in the future in order to improve the efficiency and harmlessness of the systems and to exploit the renewable energy sources. Tools, methods and knowledge are necessary to take up the challenge.
Objectives : The main objective is to give methods for design and control in order to:
- increase the part of renewable energy sources in the electricity production ;
- improve the efficiency of systems in transportation and manufacturing by use of electrical energy
Content : This master of Science includes two semesters of 30 ECTS
The first semester is composed of units:
• English/Communication (50h/5ECTS);
• Ecodesign and Optimization, Electromechanical Conversion and its control (50h/5ECTS);
• Electronic Power Modulation, systemic modeling and control of systems (50h/5ECTS);
• Bibliographic project (50h/5ECTS);
• Scientific project (100h/10 ECTS).
The second semester is composed of:
• Unit of seminar on different topics linked to sustainability and electrical energy (50h/5ECTS);
• Unit of lecture (50h/5ECTS) choice between two specializations, either in sustainable transportation or in integration of renewable energy sources in electrical grid;
• Professional project (three months/20 ECTS) generally in L2EP laboratory but also in other laboratories or industries;
Skills acquired : Students will be able to apply their knowledge of electrical energy for the development of sustainability by using tools and methods taught during the year of master.
Professional openings : Students can continue either in PhD Thesis with, in general, an industrial partner or in industry as an engineer.
Professions : Engineer in electrical firm
