Aims : The APE specialty within QEF Master's program aims to offer a training program corresponding to the two-year coursework of U.S. Ph.D. programmes. The program consists of basic and methodological courses in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics and Economic History and of a training to research step by step.
Content : The M2 Year requires students to complete compulsory courses (2x6 ECTS) during the 1st semester, advanced courses during both semesters (27 ECTS) and a Masters dissertation (21 ECTS). Therefore, APE students choose advanced courses (9 to be chosen, which at least 2 units among 2 specialties) count from 1.5 ECTS (0.5 course) to 4.5 ECTS (1.5 course). They cover all major fields of specialization (Economic Theory, Industrial Organization, Macroeconomics, Public and Labor Economics, Development Economics, Finance) before writing their Master's dissertation. The total teaching load during the M2 year is about 300 hours.

Intensive courses:
Further opportunities : Students will be able to continue their training in a PhD program. Then, they will able to careers (academic positions) in french or international universities. They will also be able to apply for positions in national, european and international governmental organizations as well in companies. A direct entrance in the labor market after the specialty is also possible for economists or/and statistician (NGO, banks, insurance companies...).
Highlights : The good placement of our students on the labor market is provided by the quality of our host laboratories. APE Master's program is also a member (since 1987) of the European Doctoral Programme (EDP) in Economics. It gathers the EHESS, the London School of Economics, the University Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona), the European University Institute in Florence and universities of Bonn, Louvain and Tel Aviv.
